The second of the Tour de France was the end of the draught for Cofidis that had lasted since the 2008 Tour de France and was ended by Victor Lafay that left Wout van Aert visibly frustrated after the finish. Tadej Pogacar gained more time on Jonas Vingegaard picking up bonus seconds.

On the opening stage of the Tour de France 2023, it was a calm affair in the beginning before the race erupted on the climbs. Carapaz and Enric Mas crashed on a descent, with UAE Team Emirates pushing at the front. Adam Yates and his brother Simon Yates got off the front and managed to maintain the lead with Adam Yates winning becoming the first yellow jersey wearer in the process.

The 110th edition of the Tour de France will see a return clash between the defending champion Jonas Vingegaard and the 2-time champion Tadej Pogačar. Jonas Vingegaard was out for more glory and managed with the help of his Jumbo Visma team to isolate most of the other leaders before Attila Valter flicked the elbow and Vingegaard inflicted the devastating blow. Adam Yates was the best of the rest and Victor Campenaerts takes of the polka dot jersey and Max Poole in the white.

On a day for the breakaway before the mountains, Georg Zimmerman of Intermache Circus Wanty managed to take the victory. Vingegaard manages to counter any moves, however there was some key contenders losing time such as David Gaudu and Mikel Landa.

In a hilly stage it seemed to be a calm day for the GC teams however that quickly changed as Alaphilippe and Carapaz attacked. Jonas Vingegaard responded and dropped everyone before winning the stage solo. Mikkel Bjerg had a badly timed crash and lost the jersey to his fellow countryman.

It was a rolling time trial and Mikkel Bjerg managed to win his first ever world tour win in front of fellow dane Jonas Vingegaard but the defending Tour de France is in the prime position for the general classification win.

The 2023 Giro d'Italia had plenty of narratives but which teams had a better race and which had a blunder. But Jumbo Visma and UAE Team Emirates can be seen as two of the best performers and potentially Team Arkea Samsic as one of the worst. Geraint Thomas and Ineos Grenadiers only missed out by 14 seconds on the win.
